Artistic Gifts To The Centre
Following a major art show in February 2006, world renowned artist Bruno Zupan donated a watercolor to the Centre entitled “Venice: View from Guidecca”. This donation established the beginning of the Centre’s permanent art collection. Another exceptional artist, Francoise Gilot, presented her painting, “The Seed,” to the Centre at a reception to honor the naming of the Francoise Gilot Gallery. “The Seed,” along with the Gilot companion piece “Premontion,” permanently hang as part of the Centre’s collected works. “The Seed” was an unexpected and very appreciated addition. Gilot’s desire to make this extraordinary gift resulted from a previous visit in which she recognized the Centre’s commitment to furthering educational opportunities for our schools’ arts programs, as well as an overall devotion to furthering the exposure of arts and culture to the community at large. The Centre is now home to a growing permanent collection featuring an assortment of artistic creations representing a diverse group of artists.

In addition to works of art, the Centre was presented with a Steinway concert grand piano, donated by the McKeehan Trust. The generous gift is enjoyed by thousands of Centre visitors every year.
